| On the 2nd May 1975 a meeting was held among a
number of manufacturer's agents from different industries. They
discussed the merits of forming an Association to look after the
interests of Agents.
The inaugural meeting of the Manufacturer's Agents Association was
held on September 19th 1975, Harold Fraser was elected President
and Norman Ley appointed the Executive Officer, the total membership
was 112 agents with 60 agents from the fashion industry. The fashion
industry eventually formed an industry-based association, and the
Furniture agents continued with the MAA for a number of years.
It was decided on May 3rd 1991 to Incorporate the Association and
on the 25th October the same year, at an extraordinary meeting,
the members decided to change the name of the MAA to the National
Association of Furniture Agents (Inc.).
Membership in NAFA offers the following benefits.
The Association is affiliated with the FIAA. (The Furniture
Manufacturer's Industry Association).

Manufacturer.

The Association has arranged for very competitive rates
from an Insurance Broker.
NAFA have been able, on occasion, to assist in
the payment of outstanding commissions.
NAFA has been representing the interests of it's members in a number
of areas for the long-term benefits of all Agents.
